Music & Literature in Twin Peaks
The music which pervailed throughout Twin Peaks took on a life of its own, often serving as an identity to the series; although stylistically new to the medium of television, the music was a blend of talents between David Lynch and long-time friend composer Angelo Badalamenti. In addition, the vocals featured in several of the songs were covered by former Broadway musical singer Julee Cruise, all of whom had previously worked together in both Lynch's Industrial Symphony No. 1 and Floating Into The Night, a musical project which Lynch had produced. The music in Twin Peaks is a melting pot of non-diegetic, distorting, dream-like and romantic melodies/tracks, and has been referred to as anything from '...this racket' (Ben Horne) to "salacious cocktail-lounge swing" (Woodard).

The Dream Mixes

Dreams Inc, Viper was produced mixed and arranged at Heaven'n'Hell Studios in Milano by Sony Music in 1996; this European project is easily identifiable as it dabbles heavily with trance & drum & bass samples, all based on the Twin Peaks main theme.
